Despite the ongoing rhetoric and social media chatter, there is a lot of misinformation flying around the Internet about various actions by the US federal administration. But what do all these actions really mean? Can the White House overturn court decisions and void statutes? In this webinar, we address all these topics and provide correct information to enable and empower your decision making including the delivery of culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS).
For example, Executive Orders (EOs) set policy directions for the federal government. EOs cannot repeal statutes, such as Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Affordable Care Act (ACA), overturn court decisions, such as the language access foundationalLau v. Nichols, 414 U.S. 563 (1974), or repeal regulations, such as the extensive ACA Section 1557 health care civil rights regulations (42 U.S.C §18116 et. seq.,) that became law in July 2024 and remain the law today.
